Last year, I spent three weeks discovering Rome on my own. I arrived in late November, just as Christmas decorations were starting to go up around the city. I loved seeing the subtle and classy way Romans decorate to celebrate. One of my favorite things to see was the Christmas tree at the bottom of the Bramante Staircase. What an extraordinary sight, and one I was lucky enough to get without people in it. (Patience required. 😉 )
