Looking for a unique road trip route through France? I took a 2-week road trip through France for the second year in a row this past September and talk all about it in the FREE online magazine Insiders Abroad! It’s not every day you have the streets lining Amsterdam’s famous canals all to yourself. This autumn morning, I rose early with the hopes of getting a few canal reflection shots. To my surprise, it was a very foggy morning, so the reflections weren’t so easy to get, but the fog that enveloped the bridges plus the quietness of the morning made for quite an incredible atmosphere. I didn’t mind a bit when this man cycled into my shot; I love the movement his presence brings against a backdrop of pure stillness.
Amsterdam is so gorgeous in the Fall. Check out my etsy shop to see my collection of Autumn images from my many foggy, golden-leaf filled days wandering through beautiful Amsterdam.

Amsterdam again this Waterlogue Wednesday. The name Falling Off Bicycles didn’t pop out of nowhere. Nope, it came to me one day when I was living in Amsterdam. I was doing a lot of soul-searching at that time, as well as a lot of writing. I was so inspired by all the charming scenes of bikes parked in front of cute scenes, I had decided to shoot them and create a site to share them. I didn’t know at that time what purpose these hundreds of photos would serve and how they would end up inspiring me to create a travel photography business eventually. Since that time six years ago, I haven’t been able to stop taking photos of parked bikes – in Amsterdam and elsewhere. I’ve since added bicycle photos from Paris, London, Rome, Gent, and many smaller cities. I have so many, I could never possibly share them all. So for now, please enjoy a few of my favorite recent ones. 😍
I have this thing with bikes… and beautiful Dutch façadesMy beloved old view from across the canal. I could look at this for more hours, still.Simply Dutch
More Amsterdam for this Waterlogue Wednesday. Let’s all stay cool this week as the tropical temps arrive in the ‘Dam!

This Waterlogue Wednesday, we are continuing our tour through summer in this beautiful city. I tend to wander the grachtengordel (canal ring) the most, because I love the reflections and the views. But when I wander even a block off, sometimes I find the most extraordinary scenes like that rose arch. Just try for a moment to imagine the fragrance coming off that thing! This city really feeds my craving to explore every nook and cranny there is. 😍

More Amsterdam for this Waterlogue Wednesday. You’ve got a collection of some of my favorite recent photos from my wanderings through the city alone and with a friend, plus, a house for sale that I wouldn’t mind purchasing. Nope, not at all! How about all that beautiful red paint? And the overflowing red geranium flower boxes hanging on the beautiful gingerbread façade? Sigh. We’re fully into the best season in Amsterdam.

An Amsterdam Waterlogue Wednesday for you today as I share some recent photos from a few days I recently spent in Amsterdam. In the midst of a couple of weeks of not-so-desirable weather, I caught a few beautiful days with great light and had a ball shooting as I wandered around.
Is anyone headed to Amsterdam this summer? June through September are my favorite months in the City. Next time you’re planning a European getaway during that time frame, don’t forget Amsterdam!
An Amsterdam Waterlogue Wednesday for you today to show you just how beautiful Amsterdam is when all the trees and vines leaf out. And I can never get enough of a solo parked bike!
If you’re headed to Amsterdam this summer, don’t miss Zaanse Schans, especially at sunset. Windmill heaven!
