🇫🇷 Happy Bastille Day! 🇫🇷

Celebrating beautiful France today! 🇫🇷 I’ve compiled a few festive photos to commemorate my love for not just Paris, but all the other beautiful cities, villages, and countryside throughout France. ❤️💙

In France, we’re busy with the Tour de France 🚴🏽🚵🏽, a military parade, flyovers ✈️, and of course an impressive fireworks show at the Eiffel Tower and elsewhere throughout the country. 🎇

A high school exchange, a semester abroad, two homestays in different cities, multiple road trips through multiples regions, and years in Paris, and I have yet to tire of this beautiful country. I’m so thankful for all the friendships I’ve made here and all the wonderful experiences I’ve had and those that are yet to come.

Amsterdam again this Waterlogue Wednesday. The name Falling Off Bicycles didn’t pop out of nowhere. Nope, it came to me one day when I was living in Amsterdam. I was doing a lot of soul-searching at that time, as well as a lot of writing. I was so inspired by all the charming scenes of bikes parked in front of cute scenes, I had decided to shoot them and create a site to share them. I didn’t know at that time what purpose these hundreds of photos would serve and how they would end up inspiring me to create a travel photography business eventually. Since that time six years ago, I haven’t been able to stop taking photos of parked bikes – in Amsterdam and elsewhere. I’ve since added bicycle photos from Paris, London, Rome, Gent, and many smaller cities. I have so many, I could never possibly share them all. So for now, please enjoy a few of my favorite recent ones. 😍

More Amsterdam for this Waterlogue Wednesday. Let’s all stay cool this week as the tropical temps arrive in the ‘Dam!

Rose galore in the ‘Dam

This Waterlogue Wednesday, we are continuing our tour through summer in this beautiful city. I tend to wander the grachtengordel (canal ring) the most, because I love the reflections and the views. But when I wander even a block off, sometimes I find the most extraordinary scenes like that rose arch. Just try for a moment to imagine the fragrance coming off that thing! This city really feeds my craving to explore every nook and cranny there is. 😍

More Amsterdam for this Waterlogue Wednesday. You’ve got a collection of some of my favorite recent photos from my wanderings through the city alone and with a friend, plus, a house for sale that I wouldn’t mind purchasing. Nope, not at all! How about all that beautiful red paint? And the overflowing red geranium flower boxes hanging on the beautiful gingerbread façade? Sigh. We’re fully into the best season in Amsterdam.

A favorite façade

An Amsterdam Waterlogue Wednesday for you today as I share some recent photos from a few days I recently spent in Amsterdam. In the midst of a couple of weeks of not-so-desirable weather, I caught a few beautiful days with great light and had a ball shooting as I wandered around.

Is anyone headed to Amsterdam this summer? June through September are my favorite months in the City. Next time you’re planning a European getaway during that time frame, don’t forget Amsterdam!

Celebrating Waterlogue Wednesday with three images from Spring in Amsterdam and a special mention of King’s Day, celebrated on a chilly day on April 27. I didn’t make it to the Dutch tulip fields this year, but I have lots of photos to look back on from my many past visits.

Last week, I finally got back to Amsterdam for some girl time and some photo taking. 🙂 I have it with Paris, and I have it with Amsterdam… that giddy, butterfly-in-my-stomach feeling of excitement that I feel when I just love a place so much. My friend Davina and I met first thing at Cottoncake for a meal and a good chat. After lots of giggles and lots of photos various places throughout the concept store, we moved on to have a look at the other concept stores in de Pijp neighborhood. We found the cutest place as we wandered, a place I had heard of but not yet been to. Yay Amsterdam is a darling concept store with lots of fresh-ingredient dishes and juices. We had to have fresh coconut, though, for a refreshing boost on a super windy day.

As always, we had a grand old time wandering around together, laughing, chatting, and shooting.

Enjoy today’s Waterlogue Wednesday!
